This beautiful mid century single theatre seat came from a cinema theatre in Nancy, Eastern France and date from the 1950s. The theatre was designed and built in the 1950s by the architect brother of the famous furniture designer Jean Prouvé. The seat has been unused for many years and is in overall good original condition. There are some marks and imperfections as to be expected and some scuff marks to the back. The chairs have plywood seats and back, the closing mechanism works well. The seats have metal feet, gold painted wooden ends and painted wooden arm rests. The seats need to be attached to the floor for and are unstable on their own, we have added wooden batons for stability and for transporting them. Great as extra seating that does not take up much room or perfect for the hallway, a really great piece!
