A lovely vintage ELMA coffee grinder. The ELMA Company was created in 1924 by five men, two of whom were brothers, in Arrasate, Spain. The combination of the first letters of their last names spells ELMA. The company was acquired or sold in the 1940s, making their coffee grinders highly collectible due to the short time they were manufactured. The coffee grinder is made of sheet metal with a steel crank handle and wooden knobs on the crank and collection drawer. In overall good original vintage condition and in working order there are many marks and imperfections as to be expected and as can be seen in the photos. There are copies now made of these but the copies do not have the wooded knobs and have an inferior mechanism. A product that is great to use and also looks fantastic as a display item.
