A Stunning rare original Globe Ideal File tambour cabinet. The cabinet is made from oak, is very well made and super heavy! There are a total of 30 drawers, each is stamped on the top edge with the makers stamp and the patent 'August 15th 1887 - May 3rd 1898' All drawers have beautiful curved edges, dovetail joints and a pull handle with label holder. Inside each drawer is a paper note with instructions on use and one drawer has the original index file. The cabinet has the original lock and two keys and five of the drawers have had locks added at some point, there are two keys for these. The tambour front runs smoothly and the cabinet has beautiful detailing to the top. A really gorgeous piece!
